The woman behind the camera

Born and raised in NYC, I’m a Senegalese woman who’s always loved the idea of holding a camera. I’ve been working as a photographer since 2017.

My passion really grew when I realized I could make an impact on how the world, and my subjects, see the beauty of women of color through my images. I strongly believe there is hidden beauty in everyday people. I’m completely self-taught, and my work leans mostly toward portrait photography and events.

Photography is a very male-dominated field, and as a woman—especially one of the few female photographers in the Senegalese community, it wasn’t always easy to put my work out there. But my passion for photography and connecting with people allowed me to rise above those challenges

Today, I’m known as Fatou Photography—a young Senegalese woman who makes magic with her camera. Over the years, I’ve traveled, met incredible people from different cultures, and most importantly, created memories that my clients will cherish forever.

Thank you for choosing Fatou Photography
